Recovery Stories

When you are recovering from chronic pain or illness, reviewing success stories can be powerful. Accounts of recovery offer hope, inspiration and reassurance. It may be helpful to know, therefore, that members of the Living Proof team have successfully used the neuroplastic approach to recover from a wide range of symptoms and conditions - both pain and non-pain-related, including:

Success stories new.jpg

Interstitial Cystitis

Back pain

Hip pain

Jaw pain

Pelvic pain

Vulvodynia

ME / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Psoriasis

IBS

Chronic headaches / migraine

Post-surgical scar pain

PoTS

Functional seizures

If you don’t see your specific symptoms or condition listed here or on this page, please don’t worry. We know that the brain through the nervous system can create a huge range of symptoms. You don’t need to find someone with your exact symptoms to be inspired and know that recovery from neurophysiological conditions IS possible.

Living Proof - Stories of Hope Films

Living Proof has produced two 12-minute films offering an accessible introduction to the neuroplastic approach. Charli tells us about her recovery from chronic pain here, and Fiona shares her recovery from ME/CFS here.

Living Proof's Recovery Wall

Because we know how important success stories can be when you are healing, we are currently building our Living Proof 'Recovery Wall'. This wall features friends of Living Proof who have recovered from neuroplastic symptoms and kindly shared their recovery stories, which span a range of symptoms. We hope you find a story (or few!) that resonate with you and spur you on as you recover.

We would love to hear your success story!

If you have recovered from chronic symptoms using a neuroplastic approach, we would love to hear from you! Your voice is powerful and your story could inspire others. Please get in touch if you are based here in the UK and would like to explore the possibility sharing your story through Living Proof - and the potential ways to do this. Perhaps you could feature on our recovery wall, be a guest blogger or appear in our newsletter. Please reach out to hello@livingproof.org.uk
